Gate valve

The gate valve provides on-off flow control in hydraulic circuits, enabling circuit sections to be isolated for maintenance, tool exchange, or system reconfiguration without depressurizing the entire hydraulic circuit. The gate valve design provides a full-bore opening in the open position, minimizing flow restriction and pressure drop through the valve body when the circuit is active, which is important in high-flow hydraulic tool circuits where pressure drop must be kept low to maintain tool performance at the working end.

The valve body and internal components are manufactured from materials rated for high-pressure hydraulic service and compatible with the hydraulic oils and fluids used in industrial tool applications. The stem packing and seat seals are selected for long service life under the pressure and flow cycling conditions of industrial use, with maintenance-friendly designs that allow stem seal replacement without removing the valve from the circuit. Valve position indicator markings on the handwheel provide clear visual confirmation of open and closed states.

Gate valves in hydraulic circuits are typically used at pump outlets to isolate the pump for maintenance, at branch points in multi-tool supply manifolds to enable individual tool circuit isolation, and at test point connections to provide controlled access to circuit pressure without disconnecting hoses. Thread standards available include BSP, NPT, and metric parallel for compatibility with the hydraulic circuit standards used in the associated equipment.
